DESCRIPTION
This shield is ideally suited to adding motor control to your project. This is the L293D 4 H-Bridge module allows you to build in 4 DC motors, 2 stepper motors, 2 servos or a combination of them to your projects. This can be used with a wide range of microcontrollers including Arduino Mega, Diecimila, Duemilanove and UNO.
The shield requires an external power supply of 4.5 – 25V to be able to power DC or stepper motors. Furthermore to increase the current capabilities of the L293D chips it is possible to piggy back them. This is to solder a chip above the other. This allows more current hungry motors to be run.
This module sits on top of the Arduino unit itself. Furthermore, as access to the main reset switch is obstructed by the shield a second reset switch has been placed on the shield. This resets both the shield and the Arduino below it.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further information regarding the shield's operation.
