DESCRIPTION
This is an FT232RL breakout board, designed to allow the addition of a USB connection to a project. Furthermore this opens up the ability to program microcontrollers such as the Arduino Pro mini. This module allows you to connect serial-based projects to USB, whether programming small microcontrollers or operating a personalised computer keyboard.
The module features an on-board jumper that allows selection of the voltage level of the target device, offering both 3.3V and 5V. Along the outside edge of the board are 12 pin holes to allow access to the full capabilities of the FT232 chipset, all are well labelled and spaced at a standard 2.54mm.
