DESCRIPTION
This module is ideally suited to adding PWM control to your project, whether it be driving an LED array or an array of servo motors, this module will drive arrays for days. Based on the PCA9685 chipset which features its own internal clock the module allows for the control of 16 separate PWM channels through a 2 - wire connection.
The module requires an external power supply of 5V to be able to drive the connected devices. The logic of the board itself is powered through the host microcontroller. Communication is handled through a 2 pin I2C interface, available on a wide range of microcontrollers. The I2C address of the module is in the range of 0x60 - 0x80 depending on the configuration of the onboard address select pins.
Although not needed in most situations a soldering point for a brown out capacitor is included. It will only be needed if you were to use a supply that dipped a lot when the servos moved. The capacitance value is determined by the setup in use. A recommendation of n * 100uF for n = number of servos is a good starting point.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further information regarding the module's operation.
