DESCRIPTION
This shield is ideally suited to adding a web connection to your project. This is the W5100 Ethernet module which is compatible with all manner of microcontrollers. This allows you to build in web capabilities to your projects, from seeing sensor outputs from your browser to turning the lights on from a webpage.
The shield uses the ICSP connectors on the Arduino board for ethernet communication. Furthermore an onboard mini SD card slot that can be accessed by using the Arduino SD library, however uses the same connection as the Ethernet, care must be taken to use only one at a time.
This module sits on top of the Arduino unit itself. It is compatible with both the Arduino UNO and the MEGA. Furthermore, as access to the main reset switch is obstructed by the shield a second reset switch has been placed on the shield. This resets both the shield and the Arduino below it.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further information regarding the shield's operation.
