DESCRIPTION
This module is ideally suited to adding a real time clock to your project. This is the DS3231 chipset module which connects directly to your microcontroller through an I2C interface. This allows you to add long term time control to your project.
Communication is handled through a 2 pin I2C interface, available on a wide range of microcontrollers. The I2C address or the module is 0x68.
The module outputs time (seconds/minutes/hours, day/month/year) which is accessed through libraries supplied on the Arduino main site, it can even accommodates for the length of month and leap year. Unfortunately we can only guarantee the calendar up to the year 2100.
